India wooing French tourists with Visa on Arrival




Now no more wait for French tourists travelling to India as government has extended its Visa- on-Arrival facility. India makes a favorite tourist destination for wanderers around the world due to its cheaper travel. Among several cities of India, Pondicherry is one of the favorite destinations for French tourists coming to India. This town is often called as “The Europe of India”. India’s step will promote the inflow of French tourists coming to different parts of India.

Apart from France, tourists from more than 40 countries can also enjoy Visa on Arrival when travelling to India. The countries for Visa on Arrivals now include UAE, Saudi Arabia, Australia, US, UK, Brazil, Germany, Sweden, Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium, Denmark, Austria, Poland, Ireland and Norway. 
With Visa-on Arrival facility, the traveler can go to the travel destination he intends to visit and get a visa on arriving at the airport.  At present Visa on Arrival is available on airports of Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram. Seeing at the increasing inflow of tourists for Bodh Gaya, Chandigarh and Amritsar, government is further planning to extend VoA facility at these airports as well. 

The foreign exchange of India earned 17.74 billion dollars in the year 2012 which showed an increase of 7.1 % from the last year. The main aim of Indian Government is to have at least 1% share in the foreign tourist inflow which is currently 0.64%.According to the statistics of year 2012, India received 6.58 million international tourists, which was 4.3 % more than the previous year.
